Happy Monday, friends! Hope the start of the work week is a good one for you – Mondays are usually pretty rough for me. Why can’t the weekends by five days long and the work week only be two? I need more play time in my life. 🙂
Anyways, I had another low key, no plans weekend. Two in a row? That’s pretty unheard of but fine by me!
Friday: I was at a work conference in Springfield for the majority of the week so made the 3 hour drive home on Friday afternoon. With nothing on the agenda, we decided to walk down the street to a restaurant a few blocks from our condo. We had an impromptu wine and cheese night at Marion Street Cheese Market. Marion Street has a market that we frequent a lot to pick up cheese and charcuterie for when we have people over. They also have a restaurant which is where we ate on Friday.
Saturday: We started our morning in the usual way – coffee! I ran to Starbucks and picked up some drinks for us.
Pikes Place for him & Blonde Roast for her
We had a few appointments that morning and then spent the afternoon running errands including a trip to Costco which is always an adventure. On our way home we stopped at a local juice bar for an afternoon pick me up. We had a dinner reservation for later that night so knew we didn’t want to eat anything big leading up to it.
On Friday I mentioned I was excited for our dinner date at Nico Osteria this weekend and let me just tell you the restaurant did not disappoint! We had a fantastic dining experience and cannot wait to go back! Full restaurant review on tomorrow’s post!
After dinner we came home and watched the second half of the Kentucky vs. Wisconsin basketball game. What a heartbreaker for the Badgers! If Wisconsin had won, Kevin would have won his work bracket with a pretty decent pay out – darn!
Sunday: As always, we started the day by going to church. This morning we continued in our series on the Sermon on the Mount by studying Matthew 5:38-48. Kevin and I seriously love our church so much! If you live in the Chicago area and are looking for a church to call home, be sure to check out Park!
One of our favorite things is Sunday brunch! This week we checked out one of Lettuce Entertain You‘s newest spots – Beatrix. Brunch was another win in our books! I had a simple egg white omelet with avocado and tomato salsa and Kevin had spicy chicken tinga with over easy eggs. I also enjoyed a delicious latte and fresh squeezed juice from their coffee bar while Kevin sipped on his brunch drink of choice – a Bloody Mary. Full restaurant review coming soon!

After brunch I spent the rest of the day blogging and finishing up errands and Kevin did homework (he is doing an MBA program at night).
Hope you all had a fun, relaxing weekend!
xoxo – Paige
