Blue Door Farm Stand is a new cafe that opened a few months ago in Lincoln Park. It is a farm to table restaurant that uses fresh ingredients based on what is in season. They get all of their food from local farms in surrounding states.
I mentioned a couple of weeks ago that Kevin and I dined here for lunch when we had our day date in Lincoln Park. We loved everything about the place. When you first walk in, there is a small shop where they sell different pantry items and home goods like seasonal jams, marinades, cookbooks, and ceramics. There is also a coffee bar with baked goods you can order from if you are on the run. For dining in, you order at the counter and are given a number on a cute little chalkboard. Most tables are communal style giving it a real farmhouse feel. Water glasses are mason jars which is another feature I appreciated.
For lunch, I ordered the brussels and kale salad and Kevin had the chicken salad sandwich which was served with a parmesan kale chip. We also tried the goat cheese and fig jam crostini.
Brussels Sprouts + Kale + Bacon + Almonds + Parmesan + Maple Tahini Dressing
Smoke Chicken + Dried Cherries + Walnuts on Multigrain
Goat Cheese + Fig Jam Crostini
Everything was so fresh and light tasting and delicious! This is definitely one of my new favorite lunch spots. I already have a lunch date planned here with some girlfriends in a couple of weeks. I can’t wait to go back!
Blue Door Farm Stand is located at 843 Armitage Ave. in Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood
