Happy Monday, friends! How was your weekend? Another nice relaxing weekend for me! Kevin was busy studying for finals so I had a lot of “me” time which turned out to be just what I needed.
{friday}
I met up with some lovely girlfriends from church for dinner at a new restaurant called Cocello. Cocello is an Italian small plates restaurant which are my favorite places to dine! We got a perfect table outside and enjoyed great conversation and food! We even ordered donuts for dessert in honor of Friday being National Donut Day! I have been desperately craving some girl time and Friday was so good for my soul!
{saturday}
I started off the day by strolling through our Farmer’s Market. Almost every stand had the most beautiful strawberries this week! You could smell the sweetness of them just walking by. I picked up a pint as well as some more stems of fresh peonies – perfection!
I spent the rest of the morning running errands and shopping. Kevin was able to take a break from studying and met me for lunch. We sat outside in the beer garden at Fat Duck Tavern. I had a chopped salad which hit the spot!
I spent some of the afternoon sitting outside enjoying the sunshine while reading my new book, The One and Only. I also did something I’ve never done before – I went to the movies by myself, ha! No big feat there, but it was new to me. I walked to our local theater and saw The Fault In Our Stars. I absolutely loved the movie, but it is a tear jerker for sure! Bring the Kleenex box if you go.
{sunday}
Sunday morning started off a little rocky. We got in the car to leave for church and it wouldn’t start. Apparently, I didn’t close one of the doors all the way yesterday so the battery died over night – oops! Luckily for us, our insurance has road side service so we called and someone was at our house within 30 minutes to give us a jump! Thankfully we had plenty of time to make it to the second morning service and heard a great sermon about baptism and why it matters. After church, we had to be out of the house since we were having our second open house. We decided to go to Egg Harbor Cafe for lunch. Egg Harbor is one of our favorite places and we always order the same thing – Santa Fe Chicken Wraps. They have the BEST poppyseed dressing for their salads. The Santa Fe wrap comes with a jalapeno poppyseed dressing which we picked up a jar of to take home.
They even serve their drinks in the cutest little mason jars!
After lunch Kevin got back to studying and I went to get a pedicure. I recently discovered my new favorite color – Essie Punchy Pink.
After searching for it online to buy, I sadly learned it is a retired color from 2009 that my nail salon just happens to still carry – sad!
Sunday night we watched our latest Netflix pick, About Time. Earlier this week we watch Saving Mr. Banks which I adored! Mary Poppins is one of my favorite movies of all time and I loved learning the back story.
This will be another short work week since we leave Thursday for Alabama for my brother’s wedding weekend!! I can’t believe it is already here! So excited to celebrate with Kyle and Faith!
I hope you all have a great week!
