Good morning, friends! How was your weekend? I had a fantastic weekend catching up with lots of dear friends and it was so good for my soul!
{friday}
My friend Jacki, who lives in Florida, was in the area visiting her parents her weekend. They were in Chicago for the day on Friday so Kevin and I met up with her and her husband and parents for dinner after work at Crosby’s Kitchen. Jacki and I have known each other since elementary school and have been really good friends since high school. She is one of my very best friends and I hate that we only get to see each other a few times a year! It was a such a treat getting to spend time with her and her family on Friday! I miss her already!
After dinner Kevin and I stopped in Jeni’s for some ice cream! If you’ve never been to Jeni’s you must go! Their flavors are so unique and absolutely delicious! My favorite is their sweet cream biscuits and peach jam – incredible!

Saturday morning I woke up early and drove down to Indianapolis to visit my friend Kelly! You might remember that Kelly had twin girls, Claire and Kate, in early May. This was my first time visiting with her since the girls were born and I was so excited to meet them! Kelly and I have been friends since we were in the same class in 4th grade. She has been my best friend for as long as I can remember and I practically lived at her house in high school. It was so fun watching her as a mom this weekend. She is such a wonderful mom to her girls and is so loving and nurturing just as I knew she would be. Even when the girls were fussy, she never lost her patience and was so calm the entire time. I honestly don’t know how she handles two babies so well! She definitely makes it look easy! It was such a fun and enjoyable couple of days just catching up with each other and getting to snuggle Claire and Kate. We spent most of the day holding and feeding sleeping babies and I absolutely loved it! Seriously, baby cuddles are the best!
Two of our other friends from high school, Laura and Lisa, stopped by in the afternoon for a little play date. Laura’s son Joel was born in March so she brought him over for us to meet as well. He was such a sweetie and just sat there as content as can be the entire time. It was so good seeing them too!
{sunday}
I spent the majority of the morning getting in my last baby snuggles before I had to drive back home. I took a brief detour in West Lafayette to stop in and visit my parents for a little bit. I also drove around Purdue’s campus and picked up some Purdue gear at the bookstore. I got two Nike hooded sweatshirts on clearance for $20 each! What a steal!
As you can tell, my weekend was wonderful and I always feel so refreshed after seeing my dearest friends. I can’t wait to see some of them again for our girls’ trip in August and then again in September for Homecoming at Purdue!
I’m so glad your weekend was amazing! I am loving all the precious babies in this post! Maybe there will be babies in your future? 🙂 The ice cream looks delicious! Mmmm Pineapple Upside Cake!
Aren’t babies the sweetest? And yes, if you are ever near a Jeni’s you MUST go!

Sometimes a low key weekends with friends is just what we need to recharge! I am jealous of your time with the baby snuggles. I have an adorable new nephew who I have yet to meet and it’s just about killing me. 🙂
