If you’ve been reading this blog for any length of time, then you know I love Sunday brunch! Kevin and I love trying out new brunch places each week and recently dined at Knife and Tine in Lincoln Park.
Kevin started his meal with a Bloody Mary which he thought was good, but pretty standard and nothing special.
For my meal I ordered the Shrimp and Grits which had N’duja Sausage and Grilled Okra. I thought this dish was good, but definitely not the best shrimp and grits I have ever had. I did like the addition of the grilled okra on top though.
Kevin ordered the KT Hash which was Butter Poached Fingerling Potatoes, House Pork Sausage, Brussels Sprouts, Fried Egg, and Leeks. On paper this dish sounds delicious, it even looked delicious on the plate; however, it really fell short. The dish lacked salt and had no flavor at all. I think had the dish been seasoned properly, it would have been a homerun so that was disappointing.
We also ordered a side of Brown Sugar, Coffee, and Cinnamon Cured Bacon which was very tasty! You could really taste the coffee flavor which was really unique.
Before visiting Knife & Tine, I was really looking forward to trying their brunch and I really wanted to love it, but sadly it fell short. The ambience of the restaurant was great and the service was fantastic, but the food didn’t leave me wanting to go back. I will say the restaurant was packed full of people so maybe it was just an off day in the kitchen.
Knife & Tine is located at 1417 W. Fullerton Ave. in Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood

This place looks awesome! It’s so close to me but I’ve never heard of it! I have to check it out because, like you, there’s nothing I love more than brunch.
