Can you believe it is already Easter this weekend? Easter is one of my favorite holidays because of the significance it has for Christ followers. If Jesus had not died and risen again, there would be no basis for the Christian faith. I love going to church on Easter and celebrating the new life we have in Christ with other believers.
Growing up my mom always made a delicious lunch that usually consisted of the traditional Easter ham, rolls, twice baked potatoes, some kind of asparagus or green bean dish, and banana/pineapple jello salad. I have always loved getting a new Easter dress for church and then coming home and eating a big lunch together. For the past couple of years, we have eaten Easter brunch out at a restaurant with Kevin’s parents. This year we will be going to Louisville to celebrate Easter with family at my grandparents’ house. If I were hosting an Easter lunch, here are some side dishes that I think would be the perfect compliments to an Easter ham:

Green Bean Bundles via How Sweet Eats
Sweet Corn Spoonbread via Southern Bite
Broccoli Salad via Food Network
Pineapple Casserole via Spicy Southern Kitchen
Strawberry Jello Pretzel Salad via The Girl Who Ate Everything
Not Yo’ Mama’s Banana Pudding via Paula Deen
Lemon Coconut Cake via Southern Living
What are some of your favorite Easter traditions/recipes?

My family has an Easter meal that is pretty similar to our Christmas meal…. ham, sweet potatoes, green beans, etc. All of these recipes look great!
Sounds delish! I love eating ham on Easter!
