Since Saturday is the 4th of July, I thought today would be a good day to highlight our nation’s capital. I’ve visited DC several different times with my first time being when I was in grade school. My most recent visits were in the spring of 2009 and 2013. I have an uncle who lives in the DC area so in 2009 my sister, Kevin, and my friend Jacki all took a trip out to visit him and see the sights. We did a hop on/off trolley tour which was great because we really got to see a lot including visiting a few of the Smithsonian museums. We also did a tour of the Capitol building and the National Cathedral. Even though it was a cold and rainy weekend we had a great time! Here are some pictures from that trip that were all taken by my friend Jacki.
U.S. Capitol
Supreme Court
Library of Congress
National Cathedral
Lincoln Memorial
Jefferson Memorial
Washington Monument
Korean War Memorial
World War II Memorial
Vice President’s Office
The White House
My most recent visit was two years ago in April when Kevin and I went to visit our friends Brian and Katie. It was the perfect time to go because the cherry blossoms were in season! While walking around, a couple gave us two free tickets to the White House Garden Tour which was awesome! Here are some pictures from that trip:

Washington DC is one of my favorite cities! I love all of the monuments and feel so much pride for our country every time I am there. I also love shopping and dining in Georgetown! I can’t wait until our next trip!
Have you been to DC? What is your favorite thing to do there?
All these pictures make me miss living there! I loved taking visitors to the monuments at night and all of the great restaurants.
DC is one of my favorite cities and one city I would definitely not mind moving to! The monuments are my favorite part! 🙂

That was such a fun trip! Remember the artery-clogging glory of Oohs and Aahs? I’m still trying to find a replacement in Cincy! Can’t wait for you guys to visit in the fall!!!
Oh my gosh that food was so good! I was a little skeptical upon first entering, but it did not disappoint! Can’t wait for some Atovala pizza in Cincy!

Nice pictures! I haven’t been to DC in 20 years and I only live about 5 hours south of it. I figure I’ll be headed back up there with the kids in a few years. Always fun to visit and so much to see and do! Have a nice weekend! xo Amanda
