Happy Monday! Welcome to another start of the week. This weekend went by really fast despite not doing much. The weather was beautiful all weekend and I tried to be outside as much as possible since 60 in November is pretty awesome. I hope you all had a good weekend. Here is what I was up to.
FRIDAY | Kevin and I met for dinner at Lake Street Kitchen before catching a movie. I had the Kitchen Sink Salad which had just a little bit of everything and was really tasty! Definitely hit the spot.
We saw Love The Coopers which I was really excited about. I love Christmas movies and some of my favorite movies/TV shows revolve around big families (ie. Parenthood, Brothers and Sisters, The Family Stone). The movie was a little depressing throughout it, but of course ended up with a good message and positive ending. I loved John Goodman’s character and the relationship between Olivia Wilde and Pete from The Office. Overall I enjoyed it and would recommend seeing it.
SATURDAY | Since it was such a beautiful morning we woke up early and went out for a 3 mile run/walk around the neighborhood. We strategically ended our run at Starbucks for some coffee to bring home.
I made breakfast once we got home which we ate while watching my favorite Saturday morning show: The Kitchen. This was Kevin’s plate, I just ate scrambled eggs with salsa.
Kevin spent all afternoon writing a paper for school while I was out busy running errands. I took a bunch of donations to Goodwill, grocery shopped, and started my Christmas shopping. I went out to Oak Brook Mall which is an outdoor shopping center. They had all of their Christmas decorations out and I especially loved these giant reindeer!
Later that evening we watched the Purdue football game which we had recorded from earlier and then caught up on some other shows on the DVR.
SUNDAY | We went to church in the morning for one of the most memorable services to date. Our church is in the middle of their Unfinished campaign. It is a $22 million campaign with a goal to launch 20 new church campuses throughout the city of Chicago by 2020. This Sunday was our commitment Sunday to pledge our gifts to towards the campaign. The coolest part was there were two maps of the city of Chicago and as you dropped your commitment card in the basket you were given a light bulb to put on the map and light up the city. It was really cool!
After church we came home and watched the Bears game with some homemade tomato soup and grilled cheese for lunch.
The rest of the day was spent doing laundry/cleaning. Pretty exciting stuff! 😉
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

It was cute, but definitely not the best Christmas movie I’ve seen. I don’t think I’ll be buying this one.
