Good morning! I hope you all had a wonderful long weekend. It is supposed to be brutally cold today so I plan on staying inside and watching Netflix all day. Here is a look at how I spent the weekend:
FRIDAY | I attended the media preview for the Chicago Auto Show First Look For Charity event. The charity gala will take place on February 12th and will feature food from a bunch of popular Chicago restaurants. At the media preview I got to sample some of the food and it was all fantastic! I can’t wait for the actual event. ๐
Later that evening Kevin and I met for dinner at Lake Street Kitchen where I had one of my favorite salads.
We saw the movie 13 Hours which hasn’t received very good reviews, but we both loved it! I liked it even better than American Sniper.
SATURDAY | Saturday morning was the first week of a seven week women’s Bible study at my church. We are studying the book of Jonah and I am really excited about doing this study!
After Bible Study I dropped the car off with Kevin so he could meet his friend Brian for lunch. While he was gone I picked up a chopped salad for myself and then got my nails done.
Later that afternoon Kevin and I met his parents to check out the progress on the new house they’re building. The house is framed so we got to walk through and check it out. Afterwards Kevin and I went to the mall to do some returns/exchanges from Christmas. We stopped for dinner at Labriola and I had the most delicious turkey burger.
We spent the rest of the evening in Naperville at Matt and Ashton’s house celebrating both of their birthdays with all of their friends. Unfortunately I didn’t take any pictures.
SUNDAY | It was super cold out so I made Paleo pancakes (almond meal + egg cooked in coconut oil) slathered in nut butter for breakfast. Yum!
We had church and then I went to a baby shower for my friend Beth. She is due with her second baby at the end of the month and is going to be surprised with what she is having.
Her friend Erin made all of the food from scratch including these amazing mini cheesecakes!
All of the ladies at the shower – there were a lot of pregnant mamas in attendance.
I spent the rest of the evening at home with Kevin clearing out the DVR. ๐

Those turkey burgers look yummy! Definitely must try them at some point as I have never had turkey burgers before.

This was the best turkey burger I’ve ever eaten! Sometimes they can be dry but this one was perfect! You should give them a try!
