Another fun weekend in the books! We spent most of our weekend in Michigan for one of Kevin’s cousin’s wedding and it was such a great time!
FRIDAY | After work we ordered dinner from Fatduck Tavern and watched the Purdue basketball game we recorded earlier that afternoon. After the game we hit the road and headed to New Buffalo, MI which is only about an hour and a half from Chicago. We arrived close to midnight so went straight to bed once we go to our hotel.
SATURDAY | Kevin and I decided to explore the New Buffalo area before the wedding. We had breakfast at Rosie’s Restaurant which is a classic diner. I had a Spanish Omelet and Kevin had Corned Beef Hash. Both were pretty good.
Afterwards we walked to the beach and hung out there for a few minutes. It was pretty foggy and cold so we didn’t stay for too long.
Purdue played Michigan that afternoon so we went to The Stray Dog to watch the game. We caught the first half before we headed back to the hotel to get ready for the wedding. We watched the second half of the game in our room.
The rest of the evening was spent at Journeyman Distillery for Kevin’s cousin Becky’s wedding! The wedding was a 1920s theme and all of the guests were encouraged to dress the part. The venue had a really cool loft feel and we had so much fun!
Kevin’s mom and dad with the lovely bride and groom!
The food was amazing! They had a mashed potato bar AND a pasta bar! And the dessert table was out of this world! I loved how every detail of the wedding fit the theme.
The favors were mini bottles of vodka made at the distillery.
They even had a photo booth which was awesome!
We had so much fun celebrating with Kevin’s family!
SUNDAY | We drove back to Chicago late in the morning. Once we got home I basically got right back in the car to drive to a baby shower. The shower was for Kevin’s cousin Andy and his girlfriend who are expecting a baby girl in April. It was a great afternoon spent with some of the ladies on Kevin’s mom’s side of the family.
While I was the shower Kevin watched Purdue play in the Big Ten championship game which they unfortunately lost. Now it’s on to March Madness!
