This past week Kevin and I traveled to Clearwater Beach, FL for a little vacation with my family. This was the first time we have done a family vacation in several years so it was fun and a special time together. Today I want to share a little recap of our trip.
SUNDAY | Like I mentioned yesterday, Kevin and I flew into Tampa late Saturday night. My sister flew in on Sunday morning so she picked us up from our hotel and we made the short drive to Clearwater to meet the rest of our family. We arrived early afternoon and checked into our hotel before heading to the beach. Unfortunately, it was overcast and rained on and off all afternoon, but we did get some dry time on the beach.
After spending several hours at the beach, we headed back to our hotel where Kevin and I had a little happy hour on our terrace.
We then got ready for dinner and headed to Frenchy’s Original Cafe. Alton Brown recommended the Garlic Crab Fries and they did not disappoint!
As soon as we left for dinner it started down pouring and rained the rest of the evening so we snagged a quick picture on the covered patio before heading back to the hotel.
MONDAY | Kevin and I woke up early and had breakfast outside at Crabby’s Bar and Grill.
We took a quick walk along the beach before Tropical Storm Colin hit.
The rest of the day looked a lot like this:
So the rest of our day consisted of playing cards inside.
By dinner time we were going a little stir crazy so we braved the storm and went out to dinner at Frenchy’s South Beach Cafe which was next door to our hotel.
TUESDAY | We finally woke up to blue skies and sunshine!
Kevin, my sister, and I walked over to Surfside Taphouse for breakfast.
After breakfast we got our bathing suits on and spent the rest of the day camped out at the pool!
After a full day in the sun, we got dressed and headed to dinner at Palm Pavilion.
The restaurant is known for their amazing view of the sunset and we were there at the perfect time for viewing.
After dinner we played a round of mini golf!
My sister was kind enough to buy me a birthday cake for a little early celebration so we had that after mini golf. It was delicious!
WEDNESDAY | Kevin and I had an early afternoon flight so we pretty much had time to eat breakfast and pack before heading to the airport. We had breakfast at our hotel and I had some delicious oatmeal.
Even though we only got one full day in the sun, it was still a fun few days with family.
