Some of my goals for 2015 are to eat clean and cook more meals at home. This new cookbook I have added to my collection is the perfect tool for helping me stick to these goals!
Supermarket Healthy is the newest cookbook from Food Network star, Melissa D’Arabian. I love this cookbook because Melissa provides healthy meal recipes that won’t hurt your budget while shopping for ingredients. There is even a page in the book that provides a great list of healthy pantry staples to always have on hand.
The cookbook is broken down by course from Breakfast to Desserts so it is easy to thumb through and find recipes for exactly what you’re looking for.
After looking through this cookbook I am already excited about using this to meal plan for us next week and help with my least favorite task – grocery shopping! Some of the recipes I am most excited about are the Pomegranate, Squash, Apples, and Arugula Salad. This recipe incorporates all fruits and veggies that are in season right now and the colors on the plate look beautiful!
Also this Caramelized Brussels Sprouts, Pine Nuts, and Penne (I would use gluten free pasta) looks amazing! I have a strong love affair with Brussels sprouts and this pasta dish sounds delish!
Overall, I am very impressed with this cookbook for the simplicity of the recipes and with healthy ingredients that have big, bold flavors! Melissa’s recipes are perfect for the busy cook who still wants a nice meal at home.
