One of my favorite things about lazy Saturday mornings is getting to curl up on the couch with my coffee/tea while watching The Kitchen on Food Network. It is one of my absolute favorite shows! For those of you who aren’t familiar, The Kitchen is basically a foodie talk show and the hosts are hilarious! I especially love Geoffrey Zakarian (a.k.a GZ) who you probably know as one of the judges on Chopped.
In addition to the funny banter and fun food facts, the hosts always come up with some great recipes on the show. You will even find good time-saving tips for preparing dishes. A few weeks ago, I learned one of those tips and I am happy to share it with you today. Today’s post will tell you how to “hard boil” eggs in the oven!
I usually will prepare a batch of hard boiled eggs on Sunday nights during my meal prep for the week and since seeing this oven method on the show, it is my new go to way for “boiling” eggs.
Step 1: Preheat the oven to 325 degrees. Put a whole (unopened) egg in each individual cup of a 12-cup muffin pan. Bake for 30 minutes.
Step 2: Remove the eggs and immediately place in an ice water bath to cool.
Step 3: Allow the eggs to cool, and then peel.
How easy is that? And the eggs always come out perfectly “hard-boiled” and don’t have that gray ring around the yolk.

That is SO cool! Thank you for sharing. I had no idea you could do that 🙂
I know, right? I had no idea either and now I do it all the time!
