Well it seems as though another weekend has come and gone and it’s back to the grind this morning. This weekend looked a whole lot like last weekend for me in that I had no plans so got a lot of errands done. I hope you all had a fun and relaxing weekend as well!
FRIDAY | Kevin and I took the afternoon off work and headed to US Cellular Field for the White Sox Opening Day! Unfortunately, the weather was not great for a baseball game and was slightly delayed due to snow. Yes, you read that right – snow!
We ordered our hot dogs and ate them in the concourse where it was slightly warmer before the opening ceremonies started.
Eventually the snow stopped and the sun did come out even though it was still pretty cold. I don’t think I’ve ever gone to a baseball game bundled up in a winter coat and hat.
The players were introduced by riding onto the field in Mustangs. Even though the Sox lost and the weather was less than stellar, we still had a fun time!
After the game we picked up Potbelly salads for dinner and watched Fever Pitch which is one of our favorite movies! Fun fact: Kevin and I saw the movie Fever Pitch on one of our very first dates in April 2005 which is the year the White Sox won the World Series. If you’ve seen the movie, you know that Drew Barrymore and Jimmy Fallon start dating and the Red Sox win the World Series. We kind of like to think of it as “our movie” since our story is so similar. Maybe the White Sox will win another one this year! Also, I love Jimmy Fallon!
SATURDAY | I ran out to grab Starbucks in the morning and walked out to an inch of snow on the ground! Seriously the snow in April has got to stop! Fortunately it all melted by early afternoon.
I made myself an egg scramble with kale, red pepper, onion, and goat cheese with a side of chicken sausage for breakfast while I watched The Kitchen on Food Network.
Kevin went over to our friends Sean’s house to watch golf all day so I spent the day out and about running errands and shopping. I’ve been wanting to change up the look of our living room a little bit so I bought some new throw pillows to test out. I’m still looking around and haven’t decided yet if I’m going to keep these. I also ordered some new curtains online.
I also did some baking and made a batch of my M&M and Chocolate Chip Cookies.
I grabbed a salad from Whole Foods for dinner and ended the night with several episodes of The Big Bang Theory.
SUNDAY | We went to church in the morning and then had brunch at Bite Cafe. I ordered the breakfast tacos which were awesome!
The rest of our day was spent at home watching the Masters Tournament. I was routing for Jordan Spieth so sad he didn’t win.
Have a wonderful week!
yay for baseball season!! I cant imagine watching th egame in snowy weather though haha!
