This weekend my mom, dad, and sister drove up to visit so we could participate in some our favorite Christmas traditions.
FRIDAY | My office had our holiday party at 10 Pin. We bowled, ate yummy food, and had tons of fun! This is a picture of my team.
Afterwards a bunch of us went for drinks at Monk’s Pub where my sister met up with us.
After we got home, we went out for dinner with Kevin at Kinderhook Tap. They have a delicious burrata sandwich!
SATURDAY | My parents arrived in the morning and my mom, sister, and I went to The Drake for our annual holiday tea tradition.
After tea we went to Millennium Park to check out the tree,
and stopped for a picture in front of The Art Institute.
We then met up with my dad and Kevin, who were having lunch at Shake Shack, to see It’s A Wonderful Life with the score being played by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. You may remember we saw Home Alone last year and enjoyed it so much we decided to go again this year.
We got hit with a snowstorm this evening so my parents and sister ended up driving back home after the show so their visit was cut short, but we still had a good time! Once Kevin and I got home we walked around our downtown for a little bit. There is something calming and peaceful about snow that I just love!
SUNDAY | We ended up live streaming our church service due to the snow (with waffles and coffee, of course).
We pretty much stayed in all day as the snow continued to fall outside. I walked across the street to pick up lunch at Fatduck Grill which we ate while we watched the Bears game.
We ended the evening watching Nothing Like the Holidays which is one of our favorite Christmas movies (filmed in Chicago).
