Good morning, friends! Hope you all had a fun weekend! I had absolutely no plans which was perfect after being out of town the past two weekends. I was able to get a lot of things done around the house that I’ve been putting off which was great!
{friday}
The Bears played their first pre-season game on Friday night and although it doesn’t feel like football season yet, watching the game definitely made me excited for the fall! We stayed home and watched the game so I decided to make some game day snacks for us. I made Buffalo Chicken Dip and Roasted Jalapeño Popper Potato Skins both from Iowa Girl Eats.
{saturday}
Saturday morning we slept in a little and then headed to the Farmer’s Market. We picked up some zucchini, eggplant, corn, tomatoes, and peaches. The corn and peaches have been so good this summer! I love our little Farmer’s Market!
Kevin and I had a coffee date at Prairie Bread Kitchen and sat outside for a while just enjoying the morning.
We spent the rest of the morning running errands including a trip to the outlet mall to make some returns and of course ended up picking up a few new things. J Crew Factory gets me every time!
On our way home, we stopped at Gene and Jude’s for hot dogs. Gene and Jude’s was named the #1 hot dog in America by Rachael Ray Magazine and definitely deserves the award! They put fries on the hot dog and they are so good!
I spent the rest of the afternoon/evening cleaning out our closets. My closet was in major need of an overhaul and it felt so good to get rid of things I haven’t worn in a while. I ended up taking three bags full of clothes to Goodwill.
{sunday}
We started our morning at church and it was our Sunday to volunteer in the kids’ classrooms. I was with the two year olds today which always exhausts me, ha! After church we brunched outside on the patio at The Dawson. I ordered the French Toast Terrine which was topped with figs and ricotta. So yummy!
The rest of the day Kevin worked on homework and I caught up on laundry and grocery shopping – fun stuff!
Hope you all had a restful weekend!
