Happy Monday! Hope you all had a great weekend! Mine was very low key and relaxing which is just what I needed.
{friday}
Friday night was cold and rainy so I spent some time strolling through Target. I did our grocery shopping for the week while I was there which was a nice change of pace from the normal grocery store. I picked up Greek salads for the both of us from Panera for dinner and headed home and to catch up with Kevin since he just got back from Seattle.
{saturday}
We had to be up for a 7 AM appointment so our day started nice and early. After our appointment, I headed to the farmers market for the first time in what seemed like forever. We had our first taste of fall weather with an extremely chilly day so sweatshirts were necessary. Pumpkins, squash, and apples were in full supply at the market! I picked up some squash, corn, and a colorful flower arrangement.
After the farmers market I headed back home for some coffee and Netflix. I started watching a couple episodes of Brothers and Sisters which I love so far.
Later that evening Kevin and I headed to Wrigley Field for the Zac Brown Band concert.
Kevin is more of a Zac Brown fan than I am, but the show was still really good. The bad part was someone next to us was smoking pot literally the entire show and I couldn’t take the smell anymore so had to leave in the middle for some fresh air. Luckily there is a Starbucks right across the street so I stopped in for a latte to warm up with. The band played for three hours so I didn’t miss much.
The Purdue/Notre Dame football game happened to be the same time as the concert so some multi-tasking was in order. 😉
{sunday}
Sunday was another early morning for us. It was our Sunday to volunteer in the childrens’ classrooms at church. I had some sweet little munchkins today and we learned about Moses and the burning bush. After church we met Kevin’s mom, his aunt, and twin cousins for lunch. We hadn’t seen his aunt and cousins in a really long time so it was nice catching up with them! I ordered another Greek salad which was ok. I pretty much just ate the feta, olives, and pita bread.
After lunch we went to the Creamery for some ice cream. I had a Reese’s blizzard – yum!
The rest of the afternoon I spent making chili for the Bears game later that night. I made a vegetarian sweet potato and quinoa chili for me and a sweet and spicy chili with ground beef for Kevin. Both of these are our go to chili recipes and are so good! I will definitely share both of the recipes soon.
We spent the evening watching the Bears WIN and eating our delicious chili!
How was your weekend? Are you looking forward to anything this week?

Saturday was the first “it’s actually fall” day, wasn’t it? I loved it! I was suppose to go to the concert at Wrigley but it fell through last minute. Sorry, you had such a dud sitting next to you. What a bummer!

I know! I loved the fall day we had Saturday! Bummer you missed the concert – maybe they’ll be back next year!

I made chili and we went to Zac Brown as well, so we both had great weekends! This week I’m looking forward to a busy work week and having determination to stick to my weight loss goals throughout it and on Saturday we’re going to the Ravinia Food Network Festival with John Mayer preforming!
Paige says
Sounds like we had the same exact weekend!! Good luck with sticking to your goals this week – you can do it!! So jealous that your going to see John Mayer this weekend!
