Happy Friday!! I don’t know about you, but that extra hour of sleep we got over the weekend didn’t do much for me because I’ve been tired all week. I blame it on the fact that it’s dark outside at 5 PM when I leave work now. Even though we are about to enter the dreaded season that is winter, I can’t help but love it when the holidays are around! It’s the first week of November which means Christmas is in full force already. I am one of those people who doesn’t believe the holidays can ever come too early and would celebrate Christmas all year round if given the choice. The Macy’s in downtown Chicago already has their decorations out and I loved walking down State Street this week seeing this view!
I’m going to my first wine and canvas event with some girlfriends on Saturday and I’m a little nervous considering I don’t have any artistic bones in my body so my painting could be interesting! We are painting a Chicago skyline which I am pretty excited about so hopefully my turns out decent. Either way it should be a fun time! Other than that, I have a pretty low key weekend on the agenda. Whatever you are up to, I hope it’s a good one!
Here is my Friday Five for today:
ONE | The first Shake Shack opened in Chicago this week and I am so excited! Kevin and I love Shake Shack and it’s always our first stop in New York so I am pretty pumped there is one in Chicago now. I was also lucky enough to win TWO different giveaways last week for some Shake Shack gift cards and I can guarantee those won’t last long in our house. Thanks to Kit and Christina for hosting!
TWO | Holiday red cups are back at Starbucks and I had my first Caramel Brulee Latte of the season this week. Next week from November 12-16 between 2-5 PM all holiday beverages will be buy one, get one free! A perfect afternoon pick me up to share with a co-worker or friend.
THREE | I had a fun dinner date with one of my best friends, Mandy, at Blaze Pizza this week. Blaze Pizza has signature pizzas on their menu or you can create your own with unlimited toppings for only $7.95! The pizzas are cooked in a super hot oven that only takes 180 seconds to bake. I ordered one of their signature pizzas (basically a margherita) and Mandy opted to create her own. It was fun catching up with Mandy and we both really liked our pizzas!
FOUR | Have you seen the new Kate Spade/Jack Spade line for Gap Kids? I don’t have kids but I have definitely browsed online and the clothes are absolutely adorable! Great Christmas gift ideas for people with kids.
FIVE | Betsy, Elizabeth, Meg, and some other great gals are hosting the Great Christmas Exchange this year! You can sign up on any of their blogs through Nov. 12th and you will be given a secret partner to mail/exchange gifts with. I signed up and am so excited! This is a fun way to make a new friend and do some fun Christmas shopping! Be sure to check it out!
Have a great weekend!

I saw that Shake Shack had opened but every time I walk by the line is out the door and around the corner! Is it really worth all the hype? Have you done the long wait for it yet?
Paige says
It’s definitely worth the hype! We love it! I haven’t done the long wait for the new location yet, but hope to go sometime in the next couple of weeks.
