Happy Monday! How was your weekend? I had an extremely relaxing weekend with some fun mixed in as well. Here’s what I was up to.
FRIDAY | After much searching and test driving, we FINALLY bought a new car! We brought home an Audi Q5 and we absolutely love it! It will definitely take some time getting used to driving a bigger car but so far we are really happy with our purchase.
We celebrated with dinner out at The Peasantry in Lincoln Park later that night.
SATURDAY | We started our day with some coffee and waffles from Trader Joe’s – pumpkin for me, gluten free for Kevin. We watched God’s Not Dead which was definitely cheesy in some parts, but overall a really good movie! For those who aren’t familiar with the movie it’s about a college student who stands up to his atheist professor and tries to prove that God exists. I definitely would recommend watching it.
We watched the Purdue football game that afternoon and later that evening I met some girlfriends for a painting class at Bottle and Bottega. This was my first time going to a wine and canvas event and I had so much fun! We painted the Chicago skyline and I was pleasantly surprised with how my paining turned out and thought everyone did a great job. I can’t wait to sign up for another class!
SUNDAY | It was our Sunday to serve in the children’s ministry so we spent the morning at church playing with some two year olds. After church we went to a new brunch spot in Hyde Park called The Promontory. It was a really cool venue and I loved my dish which was poached eggs with spinach, artichokes, and creole hollandaise over toast served with grits – yum!
We chilled out at home the rest of the day and watched the Bears massacre game at night. The only thing that made that game bearable was some froyo from Red Mango. 🙂
How was your weekend? Did you do anything fun?

I used to live by the Peasantry but never went. Was it good? I have never done Bottle & Botega either but my alumni club is going in December which I am looking forward too! I hope they will make mine look good – not really an artist 🙂

We had gone to the Peasantry for brunch when it was opened under the previous chef and we loved it! This was our first time for dinner under the new chef and the food was good but not amazing. Also the service was super slow and it wasn’t even crowded. As for Bottle and Bottega – you will have so much fun! I am not an artist either and it was really easy to follow the instructor!

Dying over your new car!! We’re going to be getting a new car eventually so I’m trying to weigh my options. That benedict is making me drool!
Paige says
Thanks girl!! It’s so hard to decide on what to get! It took us about a month and a half to finally decide. Good luck in your search! 🙂

looks like you had a good weekend. I have done the wine and painting too and agree I was happier with my painting then I thought I would be.
The Bears game was embarrassing….just embarrassing….
Paige says
I was so nervous that my painting was going to look horrible but it was pretty easy to follow the instructor. As for the Bears game…yikes! It was almost comical.
