Good morning! Today’s post should be pretty short and sweet. I had a very low key weekend with nothing on the agenda so not much to report today. This is a short week at work due to Thanksgiving so I am looking forward to only working three days. Here’s what I was up to the past few days.
FRIDAY | Kevin and I went to a soft opening of a new Mexican restaurant near us called Axcan. You never quite know what you are going to get with a new restaurant, but the food here was fantastic! I ordered the Enchiladas Suiza which were absolutely delicious! The enchilada sauce was the best I have ever eaten. Kevin ordered three different kinds of tacos and also thoroughly enjoyed his meal. We will definitely be back!
After dinner we headed home and watched Neighbors on Netflix. I didn’t have too high of expectations for this movie, but it was actually pretty funny.
SATURDAY | We started the morning with some coffee and the last of our Trader Joe’s gluten free waffles while watching Parenthood on the DVR. I can’t believe there are only four episodes left of the show and we have to wait until January for the next one!
Kevin headed out to his friend Matt’s house so I had the day to myself. I did some cleaning, watched a couple more Hallmark Christmas movies (obsessed!), did some shopping, and got a pedicure while starting a new book on my Kindle.
Kevin got home later that evening so we just picked up Chipotle for dinner and watched some more of our shows on the DVR.
SUNDAY | We had a guest speaker at church this morning as part of our Global Week. He talked about the importance of taking the gospel to all the nations and how that is the continuous message throughout the entire Bible. Earlier this year I took the Perspectives course at our church and Todd was one of my favorite class speakers we had so it was great hearing from him again.
After church we had brunch at Eyrie in Oak Park. Eyrie is a restaurant that is run by the culinary students at Robert Morris University. They just started serving brunch in addition to their lunch and dinner menus which are always changing based on the season. I ordered the Grilled Naan Breakfast Sandwich which was delicious!
It was a rainy day so we headed home afterwards to watch the Bears game and then made a Trader Joe’s run to pick up a few groceries for the week.
Whatever you were up to, I hope your weekend was great!

Does Kevin eat gluten free bc he has Celiac? I only ask bc I am and have been waiting to try Chipotle but am just too scared….

He does not have Celiac…he was having some stomach issues so decided to experiment with eating gluten free about 4 months ago and he has felt a lot better so has just continued with the diet! According to the allergen section on their website the only thing that contains wheat/gluten are the flour tortillas so you should be ok, but I guess you never know and I would hate for you to get sick!
