Last week Kevin and I spent seven fun filled days on Hilton Head Island with several of our college friends. We rented a house on the island and had thirteen adults and three kids. Our house was in the Sea Pines Resort which was really nice because we didn’t ever have to leave the resort unless we were going to the grocery store. We did a big Costco haul at the beginning of the week and made a few other grocery stops throughout the week so we were able to cook all of our meals at home which was nice.
Our house had a pool in the backyard and backed up to a lagoon which made for a very pretty view.
We had a couple of rainy days, but other than that it was sunny and hot all week so most of our days were spent in the pool either playing volleyball or lounging around.
The house was also right across the street from the beach so we could easily walk over there as well.
I spent one afternoon at the beach with my friend Mary and her adorable daughter Addy.
The resort area also had several different shopping/restaurant areas. One morning there was a Farmers Market we stopped by and picked up some fresh produce for dinner.
One of our favorite places that was in walking distance of our house was The Salty Dog Cafe.
We ventured out for dinner one night during the week and ate here.
The views of the water reminded us of Dawson’s Creek.
Sea Pines also had a beautiful lighthouse in the Harbour Town area. We went over one night to view the sunset from the pier.
There is also the beautiful Harbour Town Golf Course that we walked over to see.
Kevin and some of the other guys spent a lot of time golfing on this trip and one afternoon they all played in a golf scramble.
While the guys were out some of us girls made our own fun and went for a little happy hour at The Salty Dog.
They made some seriously good pina coladas! 🙂
Another part of the resort was a nature preserve. One morning Mary, Addy, and I went for a walk through the preserve and had a great time! We saw an alligator, turtles, and horses.
Post-walk sweaty selfie…Addy had passed out at this point.
Our last night was spent back at The Salty Dog with drinks while listening to live music.
We had a great time on our trip and I loved spending the week with friends! This trip has been several years in the making and we chose this year specifically as a way to celebrate all of our 30th birthdays. To help remember the trip, I ordered custom koozies from Etsy for everyone that I thought turned out really cute.
We all had a wonderful four (some five) years in college together and I miss seeing everyone everyday. This was a fun way to relive all of those memories. I am already missing everyone and it was definitely hard to go back to work this week. Wishing this is still the way I could spend my afternoons…
