Another summer weekend in the books. Kevin and I both agreed that this has been one of our best summers post college graduation. We haven’t done anything big, but it has just been very enjoyable. I’m sad it’s coming to an end, but I also love fall. This weekend we even got out first taste of fall weather and I loved it!
FRIDAY | Kevin and I had a little date night which started with dinner at Marion Street Cheese Market. We shared a couple of dishes and both agreed this Thai Shrimp Salad was our favorite.
After dinner we went to see Jason Bourne which we both really liked.
SATURDAY | Rain was in the forecast all day and it was pouring in the morning. I braved the rain for a quick Starbucks run because #coffee and then spent the morning in bed watching Julie and Julia. A perfect lazy Saturday morning.
Fortunately the rain stopped later that morning and pretty much stayed away the rest of the day. I spent the rest of the day in Schaumburg hanging out with some friends from work. Today is my friend Tejshree’s 30th birthday so Maria and I spent the day celebrating her. We started with the lunch buffet at India House. I’m new to Indian food but everything I tried was so good!
We then did some shopping at Woodfield Mall and of course stopped for Starbucks.
Later we went back to Tejshree’s house and her mom made us some traditional Indian chai tea which was really nice.
Once I got home I picked up dinner for Kevin and me from Fatduck Tavern. I had the chicken giardinera sandwich (sans bun).
SUNDAY | Kevin and I had church and then went over to his mom and dad’s house. We hung out there for a little bit and then we all went to Egg Harbor for brunch. I had a create your own skillet with chicken sausage, onion, and spinach.
Like I said earlier, it was a beautiful day yesterday and felt like fall. I spent several hours sitting outside at Prairie Bread Kitchen sipping on tea and reading/blogging.
A perfect ending to a fun weekend!
