Happy Halloween and Happy 31st Birthday, Kevin! Today is Kevin’s actual birthday but we spent all weekend celebrating.
FRIDAY | Kevin requested a steak for his birthday dinner so we decided to go to Gibsons. It was our first time here and we both loved it.
Our waiter even brought a free dessert which was the world’s biggest slice of lemon meringue pie! We will definitely be back.
SATURDAY | We started our morning at the Green City Market. It was the last weekend for most Farmer’s Markets in the area.
We grabbed some coffee and spent the morning walking around beautiful Lincoln Park.
We walked around Streeterville looking at all of the beautiful old homes and admiring their Halloween decorations.
We stopped for brunch at The Vig and had some delicious Bloody Marys!
We came home and watched some of the Purdue football game before heading out again.
We went to Top Golf in Naperville. It was my first time playing and I thought it was ok. I think it would be more fun with a big group of people.
After golf we decided to go to Wrigley Field to check out some of the World Series madness.
We stopped for burgers at Dryhop Brewery.
And then watched the rest of the Cubs game at Gaslight.
SUNDAY | We had church in the morning and then drove down to Indiana to visit County Line Orchard. First stop was to their bakery for some apple cider donuts – so good!
We took a tractor ride out to the orchard for some apple picking. Most of the trees were already picked over but we still ended up with a good amount to take home.
We picked up Chipotle for dinner and watched the Cubs game. It was such a fun weekend!
