TGIF!! We made it through another week! I was a little worried how this week was going to go after only working two days last week, but surprisingly the days went by really fast and here we are almost to another weekend! I’m looking forward to another low key weekend spent outdoors enjoying the sunshine! Linking up with Christina, April, Darci, and Natasha for today’s Five on Friday.

Farmer’s Markets! Seriously, I cannot get enough of them! Last Saturday I went to the one in our neighborhood, strolled through one downtown Chicago on my lunch break yesterday, and plan to go to the Green City Market in Lincoln Park tomorrow. By far my favorite summer activity!

Did you know that Panera now allows you to substitute any meat for fresh avocado at no extra cost?? The other day I was ordering my usual Fuji Apple Salad with no chicken and the cashier asked if I wanted to sub avocado. Umm yes please! She said it is a new thing they are offering and I am totally on board! Kind of like ordering veggie bowls at Chipotle so you can get free guacamole – win!

Have you all ever ordered anything through Groop Dealz? It’s kind of like Groupon for different boutiques and Etsy shops. A couple weeks ago I couldn’t pass up an offer and ordered a pair of monogram sunnies for $15!! They arrived in the mail this week and I am so excited to wear these babies all summer long!

I go in spurts of being a big reader and not reading books at all. Currently, I am in a book reading phase and am trying to come up with a summer reading list. I just finished Bittersweet by Shauna Niequist (love!) and next up on my list is The One and Only by Emily Giffin. I adore Emily Giffin and have read all of her other books so am excited for this new one! Any other suggestions for summer reads?

I have four best girlfriends from college, and unfortunately after school we all moved to different states. We still keep in contact regularly and try to make a point to get together at least once a year. So far we have done a pretty good job of it, but I know it’s just going to get harder as everyone starts to have kids, etc. I think it’s so important to make time for your meaningful friendships and to get together whenever possible. I’m so happy we finally set a weekend in August that we are all free to get together and I can’t wait for our reunion! Last year we met up at one of the girl’s lake house in Lake Geneva, WI! We went out on the boat, swam, played games, ate s’mores, and drank wine while reliving our glory days and catching up on each others current lives. Location for this year is TBD but I already can’t wait! Love these girls with all my heart and miss them daily!
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend! See you on Monday!
