Good morning! How was your weekend? We had grand plans to travel this weekend, but unfortunately the weather changed our plans so we ended up being home. With no plans, today’s recap will be pretty short and sweet.
FRIDAY | I somehow convinced Kevin to see The DUFF with me. As soon as we walked in the theatre we quickly realized we were the only people over the age of 15 and Kevin was immediately rethinking his decision to come with me, ha! The movie itself wasn’t bad, but the maturity level of the teenage girls in the theatre was another story. Lots of yelling out their feelings during the movie and laughing at parts that would only be funny to 13 year olds. I just kept reminding myself I probably acted the same way when I was that age. It was actually rather comical, but I think I will save those kind of movies for Netflix in the future. Lesson learned.
I let Kevin choose dinner since he endured the movie with me. He chose sushi so we walked across the street to Sushi House and shared a few different rolls.
SATURDAY | I made some gluten free blueberry pancakes for breakfast. I am horrible at flipping pancakes so they aren’t the prettiest but they tasted good!
Kevin was reading for school all day and I spent all morning/afternoon cleaning out all of our kitchen cabinets and hall/bedroom closets. It’s been a while since I’ve pulled everything out and wiped down all of the shelves and doors. I ended up making quite a sizable donation pile for Goodwill too. My next project is to tackle our storage unit in the basement.
We decided to get of the house for dinner since we had been inside all day. We walked over to Poor Phil’s for some crab legs and shrimp. I have been craving fresh seafood for the longest time so this totally hit the spot.
SUNDAY | We started our morning out at church and then went to brunch at Au Cheval. I ordered the chilaquiles which I barely even began to put a dent into, there was so much goodness on the plate.
Afterwards I went grocery shopping and ran a few errands while Kevin did more schoolwork. I picked up some fresh tulips from Trader Joe’s and I love having fresh flowers in the house again!
We made personalized gluten free pizzas for dinner using this dough.
We ended the night by watching The Oscar’s. I loved Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon’s looks. And of course I loved NPH as host!
Have a great week!

Aren’t chilaquiles so good?? If it is ever on a menu you can almost guarantee either my husband or I will order it!
