Good morning!! How was your weekend? Temperatures reached 40 degrees here and the snow is finally starting to melt so I call that a good weekend! Here is what I was up to:
FRIDAY | Kevin and I met for dinner at Fat Duck Tavern. I had a turkey burger (no bun) with sweet potato fries which totally hit the spot.
Afterwards we saw the new Vince Vaughn movie – Unfinished Business. I didn’t have too high of expectations, but it was actually pretty funny in spots and had a good message to it.
SATURDAY | I had my women’s Bible study in the morning and then strolled through Target for a little bit. Kevin and I then headed to Indiana to visit with our friends, Mary and Taylor, who just moved back to the U.S. from living in Singapore the past couple of years. They have an adorable five month old daughter, Addy, who we got to meet for the first time. She is the sweetest little girl and so cute! We hung out at Mary’s parents’ house while watching the Purdue/U of I basketball game. It was great catching up with everyone!
On our way home we stopped at Good Stuff Eatery which is a burger joint that just opened in Chicago a few weeks ago. The chef and owner is Spike Mendelsohn from Top Chef Season 4. I had another turkey burger (shun the bun!) with guacamole. Delish!
SUNDAY | We started our morning at church and heard a great message on the importance of community. Afterwards we had breakfast at Flat Top Grill. You probably only think of Flat Top for their stir fry, but they actually have fantastic breakfast too. You can create your own omelets, egg scrambles, pancakes, or french toast. They also have complimentary oatmeal with toppings. I made a veggie egg scramble with sausage links.
We also stopped for some fresh juices at Live Fresko. Kevin woke up with a sore throat and cough so we were trying to get lots of vitamins.
I ran a couple of errands in the afternoon and played catch up on the DVR while Kevin did homework. I made some homemade chicken noodle soup for dinner per the sick boy’s request.
Hope you all had a great weekend!
Were you able to get out and enjoy the warm weather?
