A few weeks ago Kevin and I dined at Prasino for dinner. I have wanted to visit Prasino ever since it was featured on Check, Please! a few seasons ago. The word ‘prasino’ is Greek for ‘green’. I think the restaurant is perfectly named as all ingredients used in their cuisine are organic and locally sourced and each of the menu’s dishes are globally inspired. Not only is everything prepared with healthy ingredients, many of the dishes are even vegetarian/vegan and gluten free.
For starters, I ordered the Lobster Avocado appetizer which was served with a fresh Mango Salsa and Chili Beurre Blanc sauce. All of the ingredients were really fresh tasting and there was so much lobster meat stuffed into the avocado! This dish alone I would go back for.
Kevin started his meal with one of their sushi rolls. He ordered the Lava Roll which had Spicy Tuna, Crab, Avocado, Tempura Panko, and Firecracker Sauce. Sushi is one of his favorite things to eat and he had no problem finishing this entire roll.
For my entree I stuck with the seafood theme and ordered the Scallops with Butternut Squash Puree, Sauteed Fennel, and Bacon. This dish had so much flavor and tasted like fall with the butternut squash and bacon combination. And the scallops were cooked perfectly!
Kevin stuck with the Asian flavors and ordered a bowl of Thai Yellow Curry with Chicken, Vegetable Fried Rice, Cilantro, and Lime. I loved the presentation of this dish! The curry itself was good, but had more of a mustard flavor with just a hint of curry.
We absolutely loved everything about our experience at Prasino! The service, decor, and especially the food were all spectacular! I would highly recommend making a dinner reservation here. There were tables of families with kids, girlfriends enjoying a night out, and couples all seen eating here so it is the perfect spot for any occasion. I’m already thinking this may be a contender for my 30th birthday dinner this year.
Prasino is located at 93 S. La Grange Rd. in La Grange, IL

GIRL. I used to live in La Grange near Prasino, and fell in love with it! Seriously, their short ribs are drool-worthy. I was so disappointed when Prasino closed its Chicago location, I’m going to have to head out to La Grange for a fix!
