Happy Monday! I hope you all had a nice weekend! We had a good mix of fun, relaxation, and productivity which is the best kind of weekend in my book. Here is what I was up to:
FRIDAY | After work Kevin and I stopped in Buzz Cafe for a quick dinner. Buzz Cafe is one of our favorite breakfast spots, but we had never been for dinner before. I ordered chicken salad on a gluten free wrap with a side of fruit which was light and tasty!
Afterwards we headed to our local movie theatre to see Aloha. I know the movie has received a lot of criticism for casting Emma Stone as Allison Ng, but I really enjoyed the movie a lot. Of course I almost always love anything with Bradley Cooper and John Krasinski. I also love how whatever role John Krasinski plays in a movie, there is still always a little bit of Jim Halpert in him. ๐
SATURDAY | Kevin and I had dentist appointments (just a cleaning!) first thing in the morning. Afterwards we stopped in Egg Harbor Cafe in Hinsdale for brunch. I almost always order their chicken salad sandwich, but since I had chicken salad for dinner on Friday I decided to try something different. I ordered an Egg Scramble with Chicken Sausage, Tomatoes, and Goat Cheese which was delicious!
It was a gorgeous day on Saturday so we walked around downtown Hinsdale for a while and stopped in Sweet Ali’s Gluten Free Bakery to pick up some treats. Everything in there looked amazing and the cookies we bought were delicious! The owner told us that the team chef for the Chicago Blackhawks comes in every week to pick up baked goods for the team which I thought was pretty cool.
Kevin spent the rest of the afternoon studying for finals while I ran some errands and grocery shopped the week. Later that evening we went to Avenue Ale House for dinner and to watch the Blackhawks game. They have an amazing rooftop patio so we sat outside to watch the game which it was a perfect night for even though the Hawks lost.
I ordered a wrap that had steak, blue cheese, pears, and pickled red onions which was so good!
SUNDAY | We started our morning at church and then met up with my cousins, Logan and Emily, for brunch at Farmhouse. They are getting ready to move back to the East coast after being in Chicago for the past year so it was nice to get together with them before they leave. I especially enjoyed getting to spend time with their little guy, Colin. He is the cutest and was so well-behaved the entire meal!
For me the rest of the afternoon was spent watching Lifetime movies and meal prepping for the week while Kevin continued studying and went to our condo board meeting.
Hope you all have a great week! ๐

Looks like an awesome weekend!!! I’ve heard such awesome things about the wandering in Hinsdale! One of these weekends we are going to need to explore more! I feel like there is so much around us that we don’t take advantage of! And clearly lots of yummy food options. Bummer about the game on Saturday night. Here’s hoping for a win tonight!

I went to Sweet Ali’s this morning for the first time – I could have bought everything in there but I held back. I will be going back that’s for sure!
