Well we officially had our last weekend of summer and with the exception of Friday night, the weather was perfect here and I have been enjoying the cooler fall temps. We celebrated a couple of birthdays and I made my first batch of chili! Here is a little look into my weekend:
FRIDAY | Kevin and I had plans to go to Oaktoberfest, a local fall beer festival, but it rained all evening so we decided against it. Instead we picked up a Redbox and I grabbed a salad from Native Foods Cafe while Kevin got Panera and we had a date night in.
We watched This Is Where I Leave You which was actually a really good movie. We both enjoyed it.
SATURDAY | We made a trip to the Farmers Market in the morning and picked up some produce for the week including some Honeycrisp apples and delicious Concord grapes.
We also got suckered into buying popcorn from some Boy Scouts. This bag cost $15 and that was even the cheapest option! I couldn’t believe how expensive it was, but I guess we were supporting the local kids. ๐
We had breakfast at Blue Max again and I ordered the exact same veggie scramble I had last weekend. It’s the best!
We watched the first half of the Purdue and Notre Dame games before heading over to our friend Lindsey’s 30th birthday party. They had Chipotle cater the party which was genius! Everyone loved getting to make their own burrito bowls. Sadly I neglected to take any pictures from the party but we had a great time!
After that birthday party we met Kevin’s parents for dinner to celebrate his dad’s birthday. We had a great dinner at Amber Cafe and all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. My favorite thing we ate was the Brussels Sprout and Burrata appetizer – so good!
We finished watching the rest of the football games once we got home. Sadly the Purdue game ended pretty ugly. This may be another long season!
SUNDAY | We had church in the morning where we continued in our series on the book of Ephesians learning about God’s generosity. We came home and I made our first batch of chili for the season that we ate while watching the Bears game. Another team that may be hard to watch this season. At least the chili was good!
I ran a couple of errands after the game and we ended our night by watching the Emmy’s. A perfect little weekend at home! ๐
