Happy Monday! I hope you all had a wonderful Easter weekend. We had three beautiful days here in Chicago and I loved being outside for the majority of my time off.
FRIDAY | Our office was closed for Good Friday so I had the day off to myself since Kevin was still working. I made myself some eggs and sweet potato hash for breakfast with one little bacon wrapped date leftover from our tapas dinner the night before. I love having time to actually make breakfast at home!
I spent most of the day cleaning and catching up on my TV shows. I ran a few errands before picking Kevin up from work to head to church. We went to our church’s Good Friday service which was great as always. Afterwards we had dinner at Beatrix. I ordered one of my favorite salads with arugula, chicken, and blueberries.
SATURDAY | My friend Jen hosted a bunch of girls from church at her apartment for coffee and breakfast. We all sat at the same table for our Saturday morning Bible study at the beginning of the year and decided to continue meeting together after the study was over. We are starting a little breakfast and book club which I am so excited about! We will be reading Becoming a Woman of Influence for our first book.
I met my friend Mandy for lunch at Taco Joint and it was great catching up on life with her. Taco Joint has the best Al Pastor tacos!
I did a little shopping after lunch and stopped in a new boutique in Oak Park called Two Story Farmhouse. The boutique sells lots of items from companies that give back and support charitable causes. The necklace I bought is from 31 Bits whose jewelry is made from 100% recycled paper by woman in Uganda. They carry the most beautiful jewelry! I had the chance to meet the owner of the boutique and talk with her and her daughter while I was shopping. Coincidentally I saw them at church on Sunday morning and found out we go to the same church! Small world!
I got a much needed manicure and picked a new color which is my new favorite for spring! It’s OPI – To Be Continued. It is the perfect periwinkle color!
Kevin and I went out for dinner and decided to try out Exit Strategy Brewing Company. We both loved the warehouse feel of the brewery and the food was delicious! Kevin had a burger and I ordered the chopped salad.
Kevin also enjoyed the beer he tried.
SUNDAY | He is risen! We celebrated Easter at our church with an amazing service! Kevin’s mom and dad joined us as well and it was great to have them! It was actually warm enough out to have bare legs too!
After church we brunched at Eyrie. Kevin and I ate at Eyrie for their Easter brunch last year and loved it so we made reservations to go back. It wasn’t quite as impressive as last year’s spread, but still good.
Kevin’s mom brought me some pretty tulips and put together a little Easter goodie bag for us which was so nice!
The rest of the day was spent hanging out at home!
I hope you all had a wonderful Easter!

I love that nail polish color – it looks like the perfect shade for spring and it makes your hands look so tan! It sounds like you had a great long Easter weekend!
