Since my birthday happened to fall on a Sunday this year, I knew I wanted to make sure brunch was a hit. I wanted to try somewhere new (to me) with awesome food and good outdoor seating. I spent some time researching different menus and eventually settled on Miss Ricky’s located in the Virgin Hotel.
Miss Ricky’s has great sidewalk seating options along Wabash Avenue including a little lounge area with couches and a even has a table with swings for chairs.
For our drinks Kevin ordered his usual Bloody Mary which was very good but pretty spicy which he enjoyed.
I went with something a little different and ordered a drink called the Coco Puff. This drink has vodka, cucumber, coconut, yogurt syrup, and soda water. It was very light and refreshing and perfect for the hot day.
For my meal I ordered the Chilaquiles which were perfectly executed and one of the best versions I have ordered. I got a little nervous after I ordered because the guy sitting next to us also ordered the chilaquiles and kept commenting how spicy they were and I have a pretty low spice tolerance. Fortunately for me I did not find the dish to be spicy at all. It had just the right amount of heat.
Kevin ordered what ended up being the star of our meal, the Rubenedict. This dish is a Ruben turned into Eggs Benedict. This dish had so much flavor and tasted just like a Ruben. It was so unique and we could not get enough of it.
As if we hadn’t already enjoyed our brunch enough, we were given a complimentary chocolate milkshake at the end of our meal which was creamy and delicious!
I cannot say enough good things about Miss Ricky’s! The service was fantastic, the food was amazing, and the outdoor seating was great. Do yourself a favor and head over to Miss Ricky’s for your next brunch. I will definitely be back soon.
Miss Ricky’s is located at 203 N. Wabash Ave. in Chicago’s Loop
