When it comes to sweets, I’m much more of a fruit than chocolate kind of gal. One of my favorite summer desserts is my mom’s berry trifle.
I made this recipe last weekend for the 4th of July and it was a huge crowd pleaser! Not only does it taste delicious, it is super easy to make! Unlike Rachel on Friends, I did not mix in a layer of beef 😉
Berry Trifle
Ingredients
Angel Food Cake (I bought a pre-made cake from the grocery store)
1 large box of instant vanilla pudding
3 cups cold milk
12 ounces Cool Whip
Fresh berries of choice (I used strawberries and blueberries)
Directions
- Cut angel food cake into 1 inch cubes and set aside.
- Make box of pudding according to instructions on box.
- Once pudding has set (about 5 minutes), fold Cool Whip into pudding.
- In a trifle bowl, layer angel food cake, pudding mixture, and berries. Repeat until all ingredients have been used.
Enjoy!
