Happy Monday! How was your weekend? For me this was one of those weekends where I feel like we did a lot, but it was also extremely restful – the perfect kind of weekend if you ask me!
{friday}
After work Kevin and I headed over to Millennium Park for a free concert as part of the Grant Park Music Festival. The music the orchestra played on Friday was from Dvorak and Beethoven and was great as always. It was beautiful night for a picnic on the lawn and the perfect way to end the work week.
{saturday}
I love my Saturday morning routine in the summer – farmer’s market and Panera for their hazelnut coffee! Peaches and sweet corn are finally in season and I picked up both this week. My haul also included zucchini, squash, blueberries, and pickles. Can’t wait to sink my teeth into one of these juicy peaches!
I made an appointment for a much needed mani/pedi early that afternoon and my feet feel so much better! I then ran some errands and came home and took a nap. I NEVER take naps but for some reason I felt super tired on Saturday. After an hour and a half, I woke up feeling refreshed!
Later that evening, Kevin and I headed out to a going away party for some friends of ours. We met up at Ph.D Pub and spent the evening outside on their patio. Our friends, Kara and Josh, are leaving Chicago in a couple of weeks and moving to central Illinois a couple hours away. We will definitely miss them!
{sunday}
Sunday morning we woke up bright and early (5:30 AM) and headed to North Ave Beach for our church’s summer baptism service on Lake Michigan. One of my friends, Hannah, was baptized and it was so fun getting to celebrate with her!
It was a beautiful morning and such a great way to start the day!
Each year our church hosts a summer festival with food and games at Diversey Harbor. This year we went with my sister and my cousins, Logan and Emily, and their baby boy Colin. They recently moved to Chicago and we are so glad to have them close by! We had a really fun day!
After the festival we were pretty worn out so we spent the rest of the day relaxing at home!
Hope you all had a great weekend!
