Good morning! Today’s post will be short and sweet since this weekend was pretty low key for us. Not too much to report and I really only have food pictures to share so here we go!
{friday}
After work I headed to the store do some grocery shopping for the upcoming week. I stopped in Trader Joe’s and had to resist buying all the pumpkin things! I did pick up some Pumpkin Cranberry Crisps and Pumpkin Cream Cheese which I plan on eating with English muffins for breakfast this week.
We ordered a gluten free pizza from Lou Malnati’s for dinner again which I have a feeling may become a Friday night tradition.
{saturday}
We had a day full of car shopping ahead so I started off our morning by making some delicious Pumpkin Oat Pancakes from Cookie and Kate.
We spent all day test driving cars from different dealerships out in the suburbs. Although we didn’t make a purchase yet, we had a really productive day learning what we liked and didn’t like. We have it narrowed down to two different makes and have one more car to test drive tonight before making our final decision. Stay tuned to see what we end up getting!
After all the dealerships closed at 6, we stopped by the outlet mall to make a return and check out some of the Columbus Day sales. We only went in two stores before realizing how hangry hungry we were so we left and headed to dinner at Front Street Cantina for some delicious Mexican food.
After dinner we came home and watched the Purdue football game we recorded earlier that afternoon. We played pretty well against Michigan State and although we lost, we did a lot better than anyone predicted.
{sunday}
Yesterday was the Chicago Marathon which is pretty amazing to watch. How anyone can run 26.2 miles is beyond me! It was our Sunday to volunteer in the children’s classrooms at church so we started our day by playing with and teaching some sweet two year olds. After church, we stopped for lunch at Grange Hall Burger Bar for some burgers (veggie for me). Since it was technically brunch, the burgers were served with home fries instead of french fries which was a fun twist.
After lunch, I headed over to my friend Lindsey’s new house to help her paint. She and her husband, Jeremy, bought a house a few months ago and have been rehabbing the inside. They are scheduled to move in at the end of the month, so I helped her paint some doors and windows today. It was fun catching up with her while painting! I can’t wait to see their house when it’s finished!
I headed home after painting to watch the Bears game with Kevin. I made this Hot Corn Dip from Carolina Charm which was awesome!
We finished off the night by watching Parkland on Netflix. The movie is about Parkland Hospital in Texas the day President Kennedy was shot. It was definitely a good Netflix watch!
That was our weekend recap in food pictures. Hope you had a great weekend as well!

I got the cranberry pumpkin seed pita crisps on Friday too! I actually made a really good and simple appetizer/snack that night. You need to get the Toscano Cheese dusted with Cinnamon and place a slice on top of a crisp. I am going to post about in next Monday!
Full Disclosure: I did not like the cheese when I tasted it on its own but when I put the two together the sweet savory combo was out of this world.

Ohh that snack sounds delicious!! I will have to pick up that cheese next time I am there! Can’t wait to see your post about it. You have definitely inspired me with all of your pumpkin recipes!

Pumpkin Cranberry Crisps?! I need to invest in these immediately! Does Lou Malnati live up to the reputation? I’ve heard so much about it but haven’t tried it yet
Paige says
Oh yes get the Pumpkin Cranberry Crisps – so good! I ate some with goat cheese last night. Lou Malnati’s is my favorite “Chicago” pizza. I like their crust best! I’m not a huge fan of deep dish, but if I had to pick a place it would be Lou’s.
