It’s the last weekend before Christmas and what started out as a packed weekend turned into a lot of cancelled plans. Totally not complaining though as it was nice to get some things done at home.
FRIDAY | Kevin and I went to church for an evening of Lessons and Carols which was great as always.
Afterwards we stopped for dinner at Umami Burger.
On our way home we drove around and looked at Christmas lights.
SATURDAY | My morning started out slowly by watching one of my favorite Christmas movies – Miracle on 34th Street. Kevin and I walked to our downtown area and had breakfast at Cozy Corner.
We then walked across the street to the movie theatre to see Office Christmas Party which I thought was hilarious!
After the movies we ran a couple of errands and then I had a little baking session and ended up making three different kinds of cookies to deliver to friends: Mini M&M Chocolate Chip Cookies, Peanut Butter Blossoms, and Saltine Cracker Toffee.
I was supposed to go to a Christmas party that night, but it was cold and snowy so we ended up ordering Thai food and watching Christmas movies instead.
SUNDAY | We had church in the morning and then came home to watch the Bears game while snacking on taco dip.
I was supposed to have book club in the afternoon, but it got cancelled so I baked some more cookies. This time I made shortbread with some sprinkles added in for fun!
We had plans to meet up with some of Kevin’s cousins for Zoo Lights, but the temperatures were below zero so they decided to cancel. It worked out ok because we got to have dinner at Bottlefork with our friends Mandy and Sean.
One week until Christmas!
