Good morning! I hope you all had a good weekend! To all of the mamas out there – I hope you had a wonderful Mother’s Day. It’s been fun to watch a lot of my friends become moms over the past couple of years and I can’t wait to join that club someday. Until then, I will celebrate all of you including my own mom who I love so much!
Even though the weather was kind of gloomy all weekend, we still were able to have some fun. Here is what we were up to:
FRIDAY | We originally had a date night planned for dinner out on our favorite patio, but unfortunately it rained all night so we had to change our plans. We picked up Chipotle and The Imitation Game from Redbox and enjoyed a night in. I liked the movie way more than I expected and you can never go wrong with Chipotle. Veggie burrito bowl with free guac for the win!
SATURDAY | We met up with Kevin’s mom and dad in the morning for the opening day of the Downers Grove Farmer’s Market. I love Farmer’s Market season and was able to pick up some veggies for this week’s meals.
Afterwards we had lunch at Egg Harbor Cafe. I had a chicken salad sandwich on gluten free bread – my favorite!
Kevin and I spent the rest of the afternoon running errands and grocery shopping. We also hit up Starbucks Frappuccino Happy Hour for an afternoon pick me up.
We went to Scratch for dinner where I had a pulled pork sandwich. It was delicious but huge and I could only eat half.
Afterwards we drove around and looked at all of the beautiful houses in Oak Park and River Forest dreaming about our future home. 🙂
SUNDAY | We went to one of our church’s different campuses this morning to celebrate the dedication of our friends’, Beth and Adam, sweet baby Clara. We love you Clara!
Our outdoor brunch plans with friends were cancelled due to the rain again so Kevin and I had brunch at Piggyback Tavern instead. I ordered the BBQ Benedict which was served on cornbread that was delicious! I could only eat one so I ate the other half for dinner.
Kevin worked on homework and I spent most of the afternoon curled up reading a book and drinking a homemade iced coffee. The best way to spend a rainy day!
Have a wonderful week!

I had the same thought while watching Imitation game – way better than expected!! Sorry the weather wasn’t that great, but those eggs looked incredible and curling up the couch is always fun! xo, Biana –BlovedBoston

Looks like you had a great weekend even with the crazy weather we are having right now. The wind tonight is crazy – it’s already taken our grill cover off once!

The weather last weekend was crazy! I’m tired of the gray – hopefully the sun makes an appearance soon!
